Wow 'Em with Coffee
Let ChurchCMO Help You Implement!
One of the most frequent questions I get from pastors is how do get contact information from first time visitors. It’s important to offer some value and assure them they will not be spammed with emails. The two keys to making this a successful connecting point is to first, have an online means to delivering the coffee card (see below under Make It Simple Or Keep It Local). The second key is maintaining a system that helps you ensure the integrity of the offer (we don’t want to fund someone’s coffee habit weekly) and will enable you to follow up and track the guests progress into relationship with your church.
Make the invitation for a cup of coffee on us part of your welcoming script in worship and in your bulletin or worship folder. You can even have a little fun with the limitation to first-time guests and always emphasize that you won’t swamp them with unnecessary emails. If you have a pastor or staff person that likes to make personal connections with guests, then encourage the guests to “invite a pastor to coffee” when they receive their coffee gift.
Make It Simple...
If you want to make this as simple as possible simply use Starbucks website to send email gift cards to your first time guests. You can choose the design and amount then simply click to send.
...Or Keep it Local!
Coordinate with your local coffee shop an arrangement to block purchase gift cards or coupons to send to guests. It is important to have a numbering system and it may require a little scanning or design work to create an electronic version.
